Optimization of a Fuel Cell

by Logan Ray

Submitted : Spring 2011

My project is to maximize the efficiency of a particular hydrogen (5% in air) fuel cell in a circuit to power a resistor. The plots of voltage versus current density and power density versus current density are enough to figure out everything necessary to optimize a fuel cell. The corresponding voltage, electrode area, and current are all calculated from the plots and derivations of the plots. This is all the necessary information to obtain optimal power from a fuel cell.
