An Analysis of Composition of Ammonium Nitrate with Polyvinyl Alchohol Coating

The objective of this project is to determine the composition of a given sample of ammonium nitrate coated with polyvinyl alcohol. In the process, essential values will be needed including specific heats for pure compounds and energy absorption rates for the unknown sample. The goal of this project is to gather the data needed using a basic isobaric calorimeter and analyze the data using calculus, statistics, and other engineering concepts in order to determine the mass ratio of ammonium nitrate to polyvinyl alcohol.
