Calculating the Moment of Inertia of a Beam

by Gabriele Dionne

Submitted : Fall 2009

The purpose of this project is to determine the moment of inertia of a specific beam. The information can then be used to determine how the beam will bend when forces are applied at certain areas on the beam. The purpose is accomplished using the integral form for moments of inertia. The results are then confirmed using the moment of inertia formula for a rectangular prism.
