Deflection in Simply Supported Beams

by William Coleman

Submitted : Fall 2009

The project concerned the maximum deflection in a simply supported beam. To find the deflection, first we analyzed the beam to find the shear force throughout the beam, and then we integrated the equation several times to find the equations for the moment, deflection angle, and deflection throughout the beam. This data was then used to find an appropriate beam for the expected force.
