Applying Integrals to an Animal's Home Range

This project looks at home range estimation for wildlife, which involves estimating the area that an animal occupies from satellite tracking data. The purpose of this study is to illustrate how home ranges can be estimated in a geographic information system (GIS) using concave hulls, explain how home ranges are computed in a (GIS), and demonstrate how integrals can be used to calculate the area of an animal
