The most essential resource for life on the planet is water. For an exponentially growing community such as Tampa bay, naturally concern of availability water has been at the forefront amongst the topics for maintaining a thriving economy and population. Mathematically, calculating the necessary volume of water needed for future consumption is relatively simple using the resources and tools available at the local government and people’s disposal. The primary complication lies within the limitation of the region’s limited natural water supply from the continuously replenishing aquifer, precipitation, and the Hillsborough river to meet the projected rate of consumption. This creates a new objective of generating alternative means of clean water supply that is suitable to the demand of the population that will reach nearly 1.8 million by 2030.
