Computer engineering applies computer programing languages built on calculus to simplifying the engineering design when finding solutions to various life challenges. Among the major concepts of calculus that have been used in computer engineering are integration and differentiation to carry differentiation and integration of various conditions that require computer engineering judgment. This paper will evaluate the application of calculus in the computer engineering field with focus on the application infinite and continuous functions to design of Contemporary navigation, sensing & control systems. The paper relied on combinatorics and discrete mathematics to generate functions for differentiating, integrating and deriving certain formulas which can be used to solve problems. It relied on a hypothetical optimal control problem that requires numerical analysis to determining the value of a function using the homotopic approach. The paper found out that calculus is used to perform High-dimensional numerical integration of function relating to average velocity, cruising altitude, and acceleration.
