This project primarily focuses on utilizing linear regression to predict an unknown future based on past consistent data. The problem given is a container controller that must move crates from one position to the next. The issue with this is the cables attached to the container are unstable and create open-ended angles that cause the container to oscillate. Due to the containers oscillation speed, angle, and power are essential to the crane's movement to avoid crucial mistakes which could result in an accident. Given a set of data from previous experiences the student must manipulate the data to predict the necessary output. The angle and speed are consistent values, so these angles will be the input, while the power will be the output. To solve for power, one must use linear regression to manipulate the values and matrices to fully and accurately predict the power needed. Once the correct processed has been applied one will utilize mean square error to successfully test how accurate the mathematical model is.
