Measuring Morphine Concentration in the Human Body

by Keristy Carter

Submitted : Spring 2018

The objective of this project is to determine a maximum limit to the concentration of morphine present in a person’s body when given a daily dose of the medication. A proof is provided to show that the limit exists using a geometric sequence and the difference equation. The limit is determined, and the maximum concentration of morphine is calculated. Throughout the project, a better understanding of biomedical sciences and the importance of calculus in this field is gained.
