Model of Radiation Leak from Fukushima

For this project, I decided to attempt to find the regional becquerels per year for different regions across the Pacific Ocean as well as finding the amount of radioactive material across the Ocean in its entirety. This is a slight departure to the original question due to a lack of data regarding the other oceans although some radioactive material has spilled over. This project is being done because of the large number of people who live on the West Coast that are worried about how much material is affecting their ocean and beaches.

 

            In this case I used three chemicals, Iodine-131, Cesium-134, and Cesium-137 as I had the actual volumes of these amounts. Once calculations were complete it was fairly obvious that Iodine would become almost entirely irrelevant after a few years but Cesium-134 and Cesium -137 both last longer unless you moved outwards towards the Eastern end near California where they also become significantly less severe. If once we clean up the radiation leaking into the ocean from the remains of the disaster the radiation should disperse quickly with the exception of Cesium-137.
