Creating a Drainage Basin

The goal of this project is to determine the volume of a drainage basin needed for the runoff created from a 1inch precipitation event in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Given the data for the 1 inch precipitation event, we used the horizontal line method to determine the volume of direct runoff from the precipitation event. We then compared the amount of run off to the area of the city of Cullowhee to determine the appropriate size of the watershed needed to neutralize the abnormal runoff.
