Increasing SAFE Team Efficiency

by Jesse Huffman

Submitted : Spring 2015

The goal of this project is to find the distance of two routes, using the Haversine formula to estimate the distance of each straight line in the route, and finding the route with the shorter distance. The latitude and longitude of several points along the two routes were found and plugged into the Haversine Formula to find the distance. It was found that Route B was the shorter route by 0.138km, saving approximately 50 seconds over Route A. This 50 second decrease is a great step in optimizing the operations of the USF SAFE Team.
