Maximum Sustainable Yield of Atlantic Bluefin Tuna

The aim of this project is to find the maximum sustainable yield for Atlantic Bluefin Tuna (Thunnus thynnus) by using the equation for logistic growth. It is estimated that the intrinsic rate is about 0.07 and the carrying capacity that was used for this project was 17,500. The maximum sustainable yield that was calculated in this example was 200. However, one cannot see this value as a true value for maximum sustainable yield because there are numbers that are being estimated. There are also many other factors that need to be considered when thinking about a sustainable population of a species.
