Adiabatic Lapse Rates

Submitted : Fall 2013

This project shows how to use three different types of adiabatic lapse rates to figure out what kind of cloud will be created and if it will remain stable in that state or not. The first thing to do is to figure out which equation that you need to use for a certain cloud based on its height and temperature. I went ontoNOAA’s website and collected the data needed to supply the equations. From the research done for this project, I found that the lines separating if a cloud will form or not form are very vague do to how large the cloud is, its stability, how many water parcels are in the general area and how many different scenarios can come out of certain temperatures in the atmosphere.
