Controlled Release of a Drug

Submitted : Fall 2013

In summary, the goal of this project is to determine the length of time that a particle will be in the constant rate period. By using the equations (2) and (3) to obtain an expression for the concentration C of the drug in the membrane as function r. Also using the boundary conditions C=Cs at r= Ri and C=0 at r=Ro. Then using the result from equation (4), along with equations (1) and (2) to obtain an expression for the rate of dissolution of the drug. For both expressions we then calculate the length of time (in hours) that the particle will be in the constant rate period.
