Finding Uniform Deceleration of the Mars Rover

by David Hayes

Submitted : Fall 2013

This project presents a mathematical analysis of the three stages of deceleration used in order to safely land the mars rover. The first two stages use the force of drag to decelerate. The last stage uses a method of jet propulsion in the downward direction in order to decelerate so that the mars rover can safely touch down onto the Mars' surface.
