Water Level Prediction

by John Dahl

Submitted : Spring 2013

For a very long time, engineers have wanted to be able to determine the amount in a container at any certain point of time.  Through integration we are able to predict the possible amount of liquid draining from a tank at a specific instance of time. In order to increase productivity, higher management with a higher education background can use derivatives in order to create an simple linear equation that can predict the water level height. First the water outflow is determined using a stop-watch and using derivatives. The water outflow rate is examined using integration in order create an linear equation that can predict the water level in relation to the outflow rate. This linear equation simplifies the process of predicting the water level based on the outflow rate
