Weight and Surface Area of a Prosthetic Limb

This project seeks to determine the total mass and surface area of a prosthetic limb that is 40 cm long and has a radius of 4 cm at one end and a radius of 2.5 at the other. This is done by first determining the equation of the line made by the top of prosthetic limb. After which we determine the mass of the limb by finding the volume of said limb and of the titanium rod inside. Next the mass is determined for each piece using the volumes found, which were 2733.2 cm3 and125.7 cm3 respectively, and added together to determine the total mass to be 1372.9 g. Finally the surface area of the limb is determined using the formula for surface area and the formula for the area of a circle and adding both areas together to determine the total surface area to be 1264.5 cm2.
