Maximum Efficiency of a Solar Powered Cell

Submitted : Fall 2012

In order to obtain the objective of the project, which is to get a solar cell to operate at the highest power point, I used many steps. Starting off, I calculated simple derivates to find the highest and lowest points. From there, an equation for load resistance was used to find the highest peak of a cell, in this case, voltage and current. Proceeding, using the highest power point of the cell, the efficiency was calculated. This step also assisted in finding the area of the cell. Finally a graph was obtained and the equation was used to double check the computation. By comparing the graphs, I was able to see the load resistance has a linear comparison.
