Concrete Fill Volume and Slab Area Necessary for a Highway Exit Ramp

by Sean Myers

Submitted : Fall 2012

A new highway exit ramp is being constructed in the nearby area. Specific dimensions and guidelines have been given to ensure the ramp is constructed within code. The proper roadway radius, decline, and embankment ensure that drivers are able to maintain control of their vehicles exiting the highway. Calculations are required to estimate the volume of concrete fill, as well as surface area of concrete slab necessary to complete the project safely without exceeding budget.
