Estimation of Concrete Barriers Needed for a Construction Zone

Submitted : Fall 2012

Over the years due to more people traveling and developments of more highways the need for highway safety has increased dramatically. This need has led to the idea and design of using arc length of the highway section to effectively determine the number of barriers needed. Through putting the section of the highway on a coordinate system you can pick numerous values and get an equation of the path of the highway. It then allows you to use that equation to estimate the number of barriers needed using the arc length formula.
