Optimization of a Heat Exchanger Network

The goal of the project is to minimize cost of the heat exchangers to cool or heat steam so that the company can save money. To do this, an annual cost function is created by adding together all of the cost functions provided and expressing them in in terms of $/year. Once that function is created, then manipulate the other given equations so that they can be plugged into the cost function. The only variables that should be left in this equation are θ2 and T2. Next, the derivatives are taken with respect to both θ2 and T2 and each is set equal to 0. Now, that there are two variables and two equations, the variables can be found simultaneously. The results will allow for the other variables to be found.
