Simulation of Projectile Motion with Air Resistance

Submitted : Spring 2012

Trajectory is the path that a moving object follows through space as a function of time. For this project, I used the kinematic equations as well as the equations provided to me to solve for air resistance on a bullets trajectory. Using the velocity of the object as well as my knowledge of the kinematic equations I was able to determine the height as well as the distance the bullet traveled without air resistance. Once I found those I solved for the bullets trajectory without air resistance, I solved for it with air resistance. After comparing the two, I determined that air resistance has a significant effect on how far a bullet will travel.
