The goal of this project is to maximize profit so that the company can make the most possible money from it’s product. To do this, an annual profit function needs to be created by subtracting annual sales and annual costs. After that, manipulate the function so that it is in terms of one variable, W. Once that is complete, take the derivative of the function and set it equal to zero. Solving for W will yield the resulting amount of water per hour that needs to be put into the system to maximize profit.
