Moderation of flow using a Storage Tank

by Daniel Hagan

Submitted : Spring 2009

In the following project there were concepts learned in both physics and calculus that were combined to calculate a final solution. The goal behind this problem is to obtain a tank diameter that will regulate the out going flow rate while having another flow being pumped into the tank. The outgoing flow rate needs to be within a certain percentage of a desired amount. The larger the tank diameter the more consistent the outgoing flow rate will be, but too large of a tank diameter will not meet the desired percentage of the certain spped.
