Design of a Resistive Heating Circuit

by Angelique Waller

Submitted : Spring 2010

A resistor is used to deliver a small amount of heat in a short time frame in order to heat up a small fluid packet. Conditions were given that must be met in order to have a properly functioning circuit. Using the conditions as well as the given information about the circuit and the heat packet, the resistance and the capacitance have to be calculated. In order to calculate the resistance, the Euler method must be applied to the formula of the energy balance on the resistor and fluid packet.
