Heatsink Power Dissipation and Overclocking CPU

by Maxim Shepelev

Submitted : Spring 2019

The main purpose of the project is to calculate the total heat resistances in a CPU heatsink, then find the most suitable heatsink after investigating the maximum power dissipation of the Central Processing Unit due to increase of the circuit voltage and clock speed. The required information for the project is CPU model, maximum allowed temperature, average thermal resistance, TDP, clock speed and voltage. The maximum power dissipation and final temperature of the CPU can be calculated using the information above.
