Binomial Coefficients for Generating Schedules

Submitted : Fall 2018

Creating a harmonized and efficient workspace that maximizes employee productivity is a desirable idea in any workplace. This project utilized binomial coefficients and combination possibilities to statistically generate perfect scheduling outcomes. The total amount of patrons that attended the two most commonly used pools at USF was averaged to first find the total amount of lifeguards needed to be scheduled for any given day. Once the combination for a particular shift was generated, the employer could then select the most desirable combinations based on character cohesion of the staff. If character cohesion is strong, workplace happiness, enjoyment, and productivity could increase.
