The Application of Calculus in Tumor Growth

Throughout the project it is worked to attain which of the most common of the approaches to determine the growth of a tumor is the most versatile and mathematically sound.  There are three main models and formulas that were considered for this task.  After considering all of the potential flaws, and all of the upsides of each of these formulas, and what they do best, it was determine that the generalized logistical model was all around most fitting in the context above.  It was mainly based upon the versatility, as the exponential growth was mathematically sound, and face little outside interference, but just failed to cover the most ground on the tumor growth side.  The Gompertz Model was mathematically sound for the most part, but it relied on too many outside principles and variables, that the equation itself could not wholly account for.  With the significant versatility advantage, the generalized logistical model was considered best for the question posed.
