Calculating Fill for I-75 Ramp Expansions

by Davin Hill

Submitted : Spring 2017

The I-75 and SR-56 interchange exit and entrance ramps cannot keep up with current and future demand. Engineers have proposed expansions to eight ramps to help alleviate the current congestion. The proposed ramps will expand the current ramps by an additional lane. I have been asked to find how much fill will be required for all the the proposed eight ramp expansions. This will require me to find the new volume and subtract the current to get the required additional fill. I will have to use only the survey information provided and engineering techniques to find out how much additional fill is required.
