PROMOTING THE USE OF THE LOGISTIC GROWTH FUNCTION

by Ali Farik

Submitted : Fall 2016

Today, the scientific community uses prediction growth models in thousands of real life problems and experiments. In the field of ecology, many of the exponential growth models used are misleading in terms of the integrity of the information they present to unaware audiences. Instead, logistic growth models should be used because of their transparency and accuracy in relation to ecological trends. In this specific case, I will be showing how the exponential growth is deceiving compared to the more precise and undoubted logistic model in terms of representing any given population.
