Shear Stress Analysis of Aluminum Rocker

by Simon Restrepo

Submitted : Fall 2008

Project uses the front suspension rocker and shock spring of a Formula SAE. The work of the spring of the shock set to a certain preload was found, and then with the help of Solidworks, the surface area of rocker was found. With the help of calculus and statics, the general shear stress equation was used. The rocker sees minimal shear stress.
