Growth of Healthcare Spending

by Tranise Wilson

Submitted : Fall 2014

The project collected data from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and US Government Spending to compare the growth rates of national and FL healthcare spending.  The data was entered into a spreadsheet and used to create several scatter plot charts.  Once the charts was done, trendlines were added to the graphs.  All types of trendlines were examined against the data to find the best fit.  The best fit line was selected and conclusions were drawn about the trends.  All research concluded that the healthcare spending was growing exponentially, however, it was determined that the polynomial (order 2) trendline was the best fit for all data obtained.
