With the significant increase in U.S. human population, many decisions relating to the fields of science and engineering are being taken based on the upcoming U.S. population growth. This project deals with calculating the population in 2050 using the logistics differential equation and the exponential model. In order to calculate the population, the carrying capacity for the U.S. population and the growth rate must be calculated. Using those two values, the U.S population in 2050 can be derived. Furthermore, this calculated population was compared to the estimated value found from the U.S. Census Bureau. After conducting the calculations, it was found that the calculated U.S. population for 2050 was higher than the estimated value found from the U.S. Census.
