Finding the Centroid and Center of Mass

by Kris Karanxha

Submitted : Spring 2014

The goal of this project was to find the centroid and center of mass of two unique shapes of uniform density. The centroid of the first shape was found given the function of its curves while the second shape was found given its dimensions. The area as well as the moments of the x and y-axis where calculated using integration. Which in turn allows for the coordinates of the exact location of the centroid to be known as well as the center of mass since the object’s density was uniform.
