Area/Integration Aproximation

by Michael Varicak

Submitted : Fall 2013

I at first wanted to use a computer program to calculate the area of a pool, since I am a computer science major, but my programming skills are not up to par with my calculus skills. So I threw out the programming part of my project so I could focus more on the calculus part. I am still presenting what would have been the calculus part of the program. The calculus that I chose to use was Simpson’s Rule, which falls under the Area and Integral Approximation part of Calculus II (Sections 7.1 and 6.5 respectively).
