Using Accelerometers to Find Velocity and Position Values

by Dale Mahabir

Submitted : Spring 2013

The purpose of this project is to collect position and velocity information, from data collected through accelerometers. As technology becomes smaller and more convenient, it is necessary for features to multi-task. One such feature is an accelerometer found commonly in GPS devices, Smart Phones, and 3-D Gaming. Data collected through accelerometers, report changes in acceleration. If this information is integrated through the use of Calculus, velocity and position information can be found. These integration formulas can then be written into computer code that can program a myriad of devices.
