Power for a Micro-Engine

by Silvana Villamizar

Submitted : Spring 2013

This project is based on finding the power output for a micro engine (MEMS). I was given a graph in which the pressure and volume data for one cycle of the engine were shown. This graph was based on two curves, one showing the work delivered by the engine during expansion and one showing the work done on the engine during compression. I had to find the area between those two curves in order to get the work and finally, the power output. I found that this engine could develop 10.00535688 microwatts of power.
