Submitted : Fall 2012

Tampa Bay area is known for its beautiful beaches as well as the site of many voyages of many boats, yachts and even cruises to the sea. In this project, the focus will be using mathematical approach to solve a particular problem involving the physics behind the sails of the sailboat. With the given information, such as sailcloth lengths, a specific wind velocity; we will use the technique of integration and physics equations to find the results in term of area, momentum, force and velocity, and ultimately calculate the pressure on the sail of the sailboat in the Tampa Bay area.
