Analysis of a Turbojet Engine

by Joshua Steinrock

Submitted : Fall 2012

The goal of this project was to do an analysis of a turbojet engine under certain preset conditions, and calculate the power of the engine. The given set of equations allowed me to determine the enthalpy and entropy changes in the engine based on either a change in temperature or pressure. With the preset conditions of air pressure, air temperature, velocity of air at the intake, and the mass flow of the air though the engine, I was able to start at the diffuser of the engine, and do finite integral calculations at different parts of the engine to find the velocity out of the engine. With the final velocity calculation I was able to find the power of the engine as a whole.
