Filling a Water Tank

by Devin Leon

Submitted : Spring 2009

This project consisted of finding the amount of energy needed to fill up a spherical water tank to a particular level. This was done by breaking down our tank into small cylindrical slices and evaluating the overall integral. After evaluating this and finding the density, it was possible to calculate the energy needed for any size tank.
