Unsteady Temperature Distribution in a Wall

Submitted : Fall 2011

To evaluate the temperature of the midpoint of the wall, a certain evaluation of a sum must be solved. The midpoint of the wall can be found by evaluating an integral that corresponds to the sum. The sum represents the midpoint θ. The integral is to be solved explicitly. A computer assisted mathematics program can then be used to find the convergence of the sums. The computer program can show the partials sums of the expression to see the expression's behavior. The computer program also plots the sum with the given defined time parameters. The plots then show the dimensionless temperature at the midpoint of the wall at the corresponding time. The evaluation of the expressions can display the temperature θ as a function of time.
