An Understanding of Beta Amyloid’s Relation to Alzheimer’s Disease

Understanding the growth of a particular protein can provide insight as to its unique pattern and rate of growth. In the case of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) this is especially important in understanding its growth. This rate of change can be described after it is derived from a graph in which its elements include Height/Width ratio as a function of time. Using this graph one can relate the course the protein takes to a similar graph in which absorbency at several wavelengths provides readings for the respective peptide which can then be quantified as percent content for the peptide of secondary structures form as a function of time. The parameters for the peptide in which it is no longer able to be catalyzed by synthetic or natural enzymes is dependent on the tertiary and quaternary structure it assumes as well as the rate at which its respective secondary structures form. We used the rate of change formula as well as a polynomial trend line on excel to derive the function to then later analyze its progress over time.
