Shear Force and Bending Moment in a Beam

by Bradley Broncati

Submitted : Spring 2012

In determining the maximum bending moment for this project, it is necessary to first find the shear force and bending moments. This is done by calculating values for V and M at a range of positions along the beam and plotting the outcome. Simply, when the shear force in the y-direction is zero or changes sign, the maximum bending moment can be found.
