Engineering >> Civil & Environmental EngineeringReaction Forces on a Beam with a Distributed Loadby Anthony Morales
Submitted : Spring 2012 To find the reaction forces of F_{A} and F_{B} in part (a), I found the equation of the function w(x). After finding the equation, I used integral calculus to find the total force and the force at F_{B}; then subtracted the total force by F_{B }to get F_{A}. Then, I used excel to calculate the reaction forces at F_{A} and F_{B}, and compared my results from excel with my results from integration. For part (b), I also used excel to calculate the reaction forces at F_{A} and F_{B}. The end results were as expected based on the step size used.
