High and Low Pass Filters

This is a project that deals with an RC circuit which has a resistor, a capacitor and a voltage source along with three formulas that tells how the circuit behaves when under certain conditions. To solve the following problem, an Excel Spreadsheet was set up to show the different time intervals, the derivative of the resistor voltage and capacitor voltage, the voltage of the resistor and the capacitor as functions of t. Using a first order Euler equation a third (interference) frequency was found.

The conclusions drawn from this project was that there were indeed three frequencies and by simplifying the equations given, the third frequency was found. The third frequency was the frequency that was causing the interference in the RC Circuit. These were the effects of the filtering that occurs when the capacitance varies.
