A Thrill Ride in Free Fall

by Robert Leda

Submitted : Spring 2011

Use calculus to determine the spring constant (k) and dampening constant (p) during the free-fall segment of a thrill ride, with mass = 2400 kg and starting height of 35 M. As a safety precaution, the absolute value of the acceleration should not be higher than 34.3 m/s².
