Specification of a Hot Water Heater

The minimum heat rating in BTUs/hr for a hot water heater is sought which will meet the following requirements:

  1. At a steady state flow of 30 gal/hr, it must maintain an outlet temperature of 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. With no flow, it must heat up from 70 degrees Fahrenheit to 160 degrees Fahrenheit in one hour.
  3. Starting at 160 degrees Fahrenheit, it must maintain an outlet temperature greater than 110 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes at a maximum steady flow rate of 4 gallons per minute.
