Paramecium Growth by the Monod Model

The aim of this project, specifically, was to determine the amount of time required for the concentration of a sample of paramecium to reach 100. The information provided for the project was two equations and a data table of the rate of paramecium growth. The equation for rate was rearranged into linear form then set equal to the equation obtained from performing a linear regression on the data. By doing this, the two constants were calculated. The constants were then substituted into the second equation, which was then integrated in order to obtain an equation which yielded a relationship between time and concentration. Time, at concentration of 100 was then calculated. This equation was then graphed, to confirm the accuracy of the value and it was found that at around 1 hour and 27 mins, the concentration reaches 100 paramecium per cm3.
