Historical vs Current Everglades Land totals

by Ray Dominguez

Submitted : Spring 2019

The objective of this project was to calculate the loss in land of the Florida Everglades by comparing a map detailing the land in 1900 and a map published in 2010. The Everglades is an important feature to life all around in Florida and it is important to realize the total land loss that can never be fully restored to what it once was. It was found that over 40,000 square miles of land have been lost.
